Casa de la Cultura / Center for Latino Arts is pleased to present en carne viva, an exhibition of acrylic and tempera paintings by Arlington-based artist Romina Diaz Brarda.
In English, ‘en carne viva’ loosely translates to ‘raw flesh’. This collection of works, including a large wall mural and several works painted on cardboard, seeks to capture the diverse energies and the spirit of Buenos Aires through texture, images of women, skin, movement and unified extremes.
“I paint what moves me.” Diaz Brarda says. “…What leaves me raw. That which inspires passion in me, that which seduces me, that which hurts me, that which kills me. Buenos Aires kills me... It kills me with its chaos, its wonder, its sounds, its music. The tango.”
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
